SQL and data analysis are the closest things to universal requirements here, but even the top skill only shows up in fewer than half of ads, so no single item is truly non-negotiable across the board. Statistical analysis (19.33%) and data visualization (17.33%) form a clear second tier, followed by a long tail of tools like Python, R, Excel, and Power BI that each appear in under 10% of postings. This pattern suggests employers agree on the general shape of the role (querying and analyzing data) but disagree on the specific toolset, so breadth across a few tools often matters more than depth in one.
Gaps that are easy to fix vs gaps that aren't
